At Wildwood Running, our mission is to guide, empower, connect, and educate young female
athletes. The Wildwood Mile is a powerful extension of that work. This isn’t just a race. It’s a movement designed to keep girls in sports by creating spaces where they feel safe, supported, and inspired. Where beginners line up beside aspiring champions, and where every girl
feels like she belongs.
The Wildwood Mile was born from a need we’ve heard over and over:
"I don’t feel like track is for me.”
"I love running but hate feeling like I’m being judged. “
This event flips that script. With a one-distance, all-heats format, the Wildwood Mile creates accessibility, inclusivity and community.
It’s time to grow the Wildwood Miles event to reach cities across the country, giving girls and
women opportunities to run, race & inspire! Wildwood Running wants to bring an all-comers meet feel to communities by creating an accessible and inclusive environment for girls + women. This isn’t big and flashy. It’s grassroots. The kind of meet where everyone is on the in.
We’re looking for passionate coaches, athletes, and running leaders to host a Wildwood Mile in their city!
If you love building community through running and want to create a fun, inclusive event, we’d love to hear from you. Hosting is a great way to inspire athletes of all ages, highlight the joy of racing the mile, and connect with others who share your passion.
