Our fourth Annual Wildwood Running PDX (Portland, Oregon) Clinic is open for registration. We are excited to bring you experts, clinicians and coaches to support your growth as a coach!
As we know, running is so much more than running! This 1.5 day clinic will focus on supporting and empowering the young female distance runner. While many clinics focus on the X's and O's, we focus on all the layers beyond the training that will support your athletes. Speakers will present on the important role of the coach, team culture, positive mindset, nutrition, coaching the individual within a team, female physiology, Iron and more. The content will challenge you to be the best coach you can while also providing immediate tools to add to your program.

Coach Diljeet Taylor will join us again this year with a new talk focused on fostering belief in your athletes. She will use her experiences as an athlete and coach to help guide coaches in building belief in their athletes. Being able to believe in oneself is a skill imperative for running and life!
Dr. Sarah Lesko and Lauren Fleshman will lead a roundtable discussion to address specific challenges and opportunities coaches experience with their female-bodied runners including competitive plateaus. They will use their individual medical and coaching backgrounds as well as current research to support appropriate methods to address situations and provide training examples and scripts to talk about these issues.

Her two sessions will guide coaches in understanding how Nutrition, REDs, Puberty & Periods intertwine with our runners. Melissa will support coaches in how they can have conversations with their community.
Tammie Bennett’s experience as an athlete, running coach and mental performance coach will create a session you surely want to be a part of. Tammie provide attendees with tools to support their athlete’s mindset in these areas:

Comparison
Her presentation will feel like you’re creating a toolbox full of ideas to support your athletes in many different ways! A toolbox that you can open season after season, year after year!
Dan Iverson, the Naperville North HS coach of over 30 years will share how he has built a positive competitive culture within his program.
His talk “The Pasta Party Problem and the Importance of Building Team Culture” may challenge your definition of team culture while also giving you ideas you can implement immediately into your program. His year of experience in coaching girls has created a strong and high performing team culture.
Last year, his talk on defining success was a huge hit! We assure you this will as well.
Rebecca Mehra will share her athletic journey from a middle school runner to her current professional career as a Brooks Beast. Coaches will connect to the obstacles and triumphs of Rebeccas's long running journey and relate it to how they connect with their girls in running.
Rebecca is an engaging and thoughtful presenter. Attendees will walk away inspired to support their girls.
Wildwood Running co-founders Robyn McGillis and Marie Davis Markham will encourage you to be the change! Together they have worked to change the culture of girls in running through education, community and love of the sport. During their session they will share how they individually and collectively have worked to advance the sport for girls and how you can too!
