Sarah Lesko, MD, MPH, Executive Director, Bras for Girls

Sarah Lesko is a family doctor, the Executive Director of the non-profit Bras for Girls, co-founder of the elite running club Littlewing Athletics, and coach/medical advisor at the pro level. After a collegiate running career at Yale University, Sarah became a family doctor practicing in the Community Health Center setting, and then returned to get her Masters in Public Health to be able to focus on community-based needs. In 2015 Sarah took a hiatus from practicing medicine to work with Oiselle, the women’s athletic apparel brand based in Seattle, WA. In 2017, Sarah helped start the Bras for Girls program and shepherded its growth as well as its transition to a non-profit in 2021. Sarah also served as the head XC and T&F coach at Islander Middle School on Mercer Island for 9 years (typical team size 120-160), while her 3 boys were participating at that level. Sarah has seen how small, supportive interventions for developing athletes have a big impact. She is committed to making sports and body movement accessible and welcoming for all; she believes in the power of sports to improve health, happiness, and equity.

Sarah earned a BA in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, an MD from the University of Pennsylvania, completed her residency in Family Medicine at UCSF, and obtained her MPH from the University of Washington.
