On the edge of the Oregon Coast Range, we will gather for 4 nights and 5 days to guide, empower, connect & educate young female RunHERS. We will spend the week building community and empowering one another to embrace and honor their own unique running and life journey. An emphasis will be placed on self reflection, accountability & running as an avenue to being the best version of yourself.
Being away from the city will provide us the opportunity to connect with one another in a beautiful natural setting. Running, ancillary work, group conversations, education, reflection, community building & fun (have you seen the 200 meter slip n slide?!) will be our fundamental objectives.
This year, in partnership with On ,we will provide a full Olympic trials experience! We will bus all the campers to Eugene for the day and attend a session on Thursday, June 27th!
CAMP DATES are June 24th - June 28th 2024
Arrival: 10am - 12pm, June 24th
Departure: 12pm, June 28th
This camp is developed for all middle school and high school female distance runners in mind. At Wildwood Running we support everyone who loves this sport and would like to continue to grow as a runner and a person no matter their pace! We want athletes to leave camp feeling like they put in some good work but most importantly learned more about themselves and their athletic journey.
Like most things Wildwood Running, we will take time to reflect and discuss being a great runner as well as a great person.
Our key topics will be:
Our hope is every girl leaves camp feeling like they’ve grown as an individual and are proud of the journey they are on!
We know common experiences often create tight bonds. At Wildwood Running Summer Camp, we invite teams to attend camp together. Running, learning, overcoming challenges and building community can help your team start the season on the right foot. If a team (of 5 or more) chooses to attend our camp together, their coach is welcome to attend as well. We will provide one hour each night for teams to gather on their own and work on their own team goals.
Wildwood Running Co-founders Marie Davis Markham and Robyn McGillis will be hosting this summer‘s camp. Together Marie and Robyn Combine to have many years of competitive running as well as coaching high school athletes. Their mission for Wildwood Running is to Focus on more than just the running, Acknowledging that being a great runner is more than putting 1 foot in front of the other. For their 35 years in the running world, they have witnessed male runners and female runners coached similarly. Understanding there are physiological and emotional differences is important for every athlete and coach. Addressing these differences help support every athlete on their own athletic journey.

We are excited to host our camp at https://campcedarridgeor.org. This property encompasses many sleeping areas, a dining hall, swimming pool, fields, slip and slide and 1 mile trail around the perimeter of the property. The property is located in Vernonia, Oregon which is about 1 hour west of Portland.
Camp dates coming soon!!
Airport Transportation: We will have shuttle van service from PDX airport to the camp in Vernonia, Oregon on June 26th and returning on June 30h. Please contact us if this is something you are interested before purchasing your flight so we can coordinate suitable arrival times.
Simultaneously a youth soccer camp will occur on the property. During our camp we will run our programs individually. Our schedule will be coordinated appropriately so that our groups do not overlap on the property except for passing time. The property is large enough that we can find our own space. A couple times during the week, we will take a bus to various running locations.
We ask that camp be a technology free zone. Athletes may have 30 minutes in the evening to connect with their families but we want to encourage all athletes to enjoy nature, meet friends and have fun!
We are excited to have some of our favorite runners as counselors. All counselors will be vaccinated. They also will have completed a background check. These counselors believe in the power of living a well rounded life full of running and other things.
