Dena Evans has been the club director for post-collegiate group Peninsula Distance Club since its founding in 2007. Prior to that, she coached at Stanford, during which time she was named 2003 NCAA D1 Cross Country Coach of the Year as the women’s team won the title, and 2004 National Assistant Coach of the Year for Women’s Distance. She has coached both U20 and senior athletes (from five different countries) to international selection, co-directed the Bay Area Running Camp from 2010-15, and has been a member of eight Team USA coaching staffs.
She grew up near Seattle before graduating from Stanford with undergraduate and master’s degrees (Secondary Education), where she competed in both soccer and track & field. She and her husband have two daughters, one a sophomore at UPenn and one a senior at Woodside High School.
