Dan Iverson has been a teacher and coach at Naperville North (IL) for thirty years. In that time, the girls teams at North have consistently run well at both the state and national level in both XC and Track and Field. Dan also speaks frequently across the country at coaching clinics on many topics related to successful coaching.
Here are some of the accomplishments of Dan and the teams he has helped lead at Naperville North High School (1994-present):
- Assistant Girls’ XC Coach 1994-95, Head Girls’ XC Coach 1996-present
- Head Girls’ Track and Field Coach 1995-2003, 2017-present, Assistant Girls’ Track and Field Coach 2004-2016
- Won nine state cross country championships (2001, 2004, 2005, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and one track and field state championship (2018)
- Earned trophies (top three) at Illinois State Meet 19 times in XC (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022) and three times (2017, 2018, 2021) in track and field
- Coached dozens of All-State XC Runners
- Coached dozens of All-State Track Athletes, including State Champion 4x800m relay (2015) and Judy Pendergast as State Champion in the 3200m and in XC (2015), Halle Bieber as State Champion in the 300m hurdles (2017, 2018 and 2019)
- Coached three NXN All-Americans in Judy Pendergast (2015), Sarah Schmitt (2017) and Alex Morris (2018)
- Coached three Footlocker All-Americans in the same three athletes above
- Earned nine berths at NXN (2005, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019)
- Runner-up at NXN in 2017 and 2018
- 4th place at NXN in 2005 and 2014.
